The exhibition "The Infinite and the Divine" at Lightforms Art Center in Hudson, NY, from March 6th to August 8th, 2020, showcases the first showing in the United States of the full eight-painting series known as the Tree of Knowledge, as well as the Flowers, Mosses, and Lichen, on loan from the Albert Steffen Foundation in Dornach, Switzerland. The exhibition catalogues this remarkable collection of works by the renowned artist Hilma af Klint.

Accompanying the Tree of Knowledge series and the Sketchbook are essays written by Senior Artistic Director Martina Angela Müller, which explore the visual language as well as the spiritual and anthroposophical underpinnings of the works on display. Art historian David Adams, PhD, also presents an incisive biographical and work overview on Hilma af Klint, providing valuable insights into the artist's life and creative process.

Complementing the abstract Sketchbook by Hilma af Klint are over one hundred botanical illustrations by eleven female artists. These illustrations, preceded by an introductory essay by Artistic Director Helena Sophia Zay, enhance the artistic study compendium, creating an unparalleled and comprehensive exploration of Hilma af Klint's artistic legacy.

The exhibition at Lightforms Art Center offers a unique opportunity to experience the full breadth of Hilma af Klint's artistic vision, from the majestic Tree of Knowledge series to the delicate Flowers, Mosses, and Lichen. The combination of essays, biographical information, and botanical illustrations provides a multifaceted understanding of Hilma af Klint's work and its profound significance within the art world and beyond.
